Rise up diaries ~ 5th July 2019

Last episode: Rise Up Diaries ~ 4th July

Today been a very much a chore day for me, which been very good a productive. I started the morning by cleaning my car. After moving in with my parents again I threw most things into my car during the move that just been left there for a couple weeks. It’s not been things I have needed but at the same time it shouldn’t be in my car.

I also had a few empty cans and it did need a quick hoover with the vacuum. Just to give it that last fresh look I also did a quick wipe down on all the interior. It does need a clean on the outside as well so I might take it to a car wash in a couple of days. Other than that I’m very happy with how it turned out.

After that my dad wanted to chop some wood so I helped him. It wasn’t a lot that needed to be chopped so it went by rather quick. After that my dad was going to cut the grass, as I know he is the only one driving the lawnmower I decided to water my moms plants in the greenhouse instead. Knowing my mom been in rather bad pain lately. She is having some problems with one of her legs, we don’t really know why yet. But the 10th July we are going to get it checked at the hospital which feels good.

After watering the plants though my dad yelled and me to come and try cutting the grass as well. Which made me both excited and scared. I love driving a car and I love driving a go cart. To me it couldn’t be that different and to be fair it wasn’t. But I have also been driving with my dad before i had my license. I mean it went well be I would say my dad is a screamer. When he gets scared for my and/or his safety and will scream. He don’t mean much of what he is screaming but its his way of show he got/was scared. This do stress me though when trying to learn or try something new.

“No!” Not that!” Drive here! Turn it already!”, would be yelled and he would look rather unhappy the entire time. Which made me think I might have messed up. Where he cut it was very straight and nice and mine did look a bit wobbly but the grass was cut! After we was done he patted me on the back though and said I did really well. But its just my dads way of wanting me to do the best and showing some fear I think. Its kinda cute when I think about it. Manly army dad screaming but really is shaking scared his lovely daughter will hurt herself.

Oh, yeah this morning we had the largest bee I have ever seen come inside. Both me and my dad got a bit scared of it. It was probably just as big as my index finger. We both agreed it must have been a queen looking for some place to start a new home. We didn’t want that home to be inside though considering she took a very big liking to moms kitchen curtains. We safely got her out and she happily flew away into the garden.

To end the day we made a smaller BBQ. Tomorrow it will start raining again so we thought it would be good to use the rain. I will make a slow cook pot tomorrow for dinner, a recipe my granddad learned from his family when he lived in Hungary. But after starting that in the morning I’m going with a friend to a bigger city to do some window shopping. We aren’t really looking for something to be honest. But if I know myself I will buy myself some tea if I find some good flavors.

What have you been doing this fine Friday?

Any weekend plans?

It’s now Saturday morning for me. I returned home to where I live after spending a week in Brisbane visiting my elderly parents and my adult daughters.
My father would raise his voice at me too if I didn’t cut the grass in straight lines 😂
Your barbecue looks very nice and healthful.

I will try to write a blog post for my food blog and a post for my diary blog this weekend. I have some photographs to edit and a video to make for the food blog.
Blogging is my hobby and my therapy for work stress. I really enjoy it and of course reading blogs from other interesting people like you Elin.

Aww don’t make me blush 🙂

Reading and writing is the same for me though. Its very clensing and makes me feel whole and at the same time it clears my mind. Ever since I started writing daily on this blog I been feeling better. Getting thoughts and things on paper. I am holding some personal things back thought. I write them but delete them before publishing. Maybe if I do get more comfterble I will be more bold and brave to open up even more. 🙂 Who knows.

It does sound like you have a lot to do 🙂 I dont like having little to do, makes me restless so your weekend do sound just perfect. 🙂 I wish you all the best in all your projects.

        Thank you very much Elin.
I agree writing is very good therapy.
I also write and delete. The world doesn’t need to know my innermost thoughts.
I will write and share for sure this weekend.

My dad used to be like that, I almost wish he could still yell at me, but his Parkinson’s has robbed him of his voice. He can barely string words together anymore and we have to use texting or whiteboards to communicate. It’s very sad.
I love the look of your dinner, very yummy!
It is Saturday morning here in Texas, hubby and I were thinking maybe after a brief visit with my dad we might go to the horse races for something to do.
