Long time, no see

Been away from writing a bit. I decided I needed a bit of a break from writing. I sure did miss it a lot though. I haven’t written much on my novels so I can’t start publishing them on Amazon like my plan was for this autumn. It’s my birthday today and I thought why not start again on this “special day”. Almost like a new start for the blog. But some happy things have been happening in my life. So Lets go through the updates 🙂

New job

After quitting my job because of the horrible psychopath of a boss I had I been very….upset. I loved my job a lot and wasn’t truly ready to move on yet. But because of his mental bullying for a year, that just got worse for every day, I felt so worthless and horrible that I saw no point in even going to work. Almost like everything I did was bad. Today I know that wasn’t true. But he made me feel like that.

To spare me the pain I quit my job. I didn’t have a new job right away, more than working hours. Recently I was offered a job as a librarian in a middle school close to my parents and family. I’m really happy about this and hope it will all go well. The boss at this work is very happy and says she likes all my ideas and she truly value me. And that’s something I haven’t felt from a boss in a long time. So even though I’m not used to it, it makes me really happy.

Pen pal Friends

I been starting to write pen pal letters more and I been loving it a lot. I had a hard time saying “no” to a lot of people who wanted to be friends so I ended up with 17 pen pals in the beginning. I started with smaller introduction letters were I told them about me and who I am. Some didn’t respond after this. Which is fine with me. I want pen pals that feel like they can relate to me and we have something to actually talk about.

Some things that been bothering me about some pen pals recently is that some don’t write letters to get to know friends or learn about new cultures etc. Some want to make more like “send me goodies” letters. Or so I call them. Where you send anything from candy to stationary and the letter is very, very, very short. I don’t mind spoiling people I like or send something sometimes. But some pen pals gets very upset if you don’t send them stuff or if you send to little things. Which takes it from being a fun hobby to something bothersome to me. I want it to be something fun not feel anxious if they are happy with the amount I sent or not.

I’m also part of a pen pal group on Facebook. This group have mostly American ladies. And I feel like the group is mostly to nag on how they wither never get letters or how people don’t send enough goodies. I’m again mostly part of the group to see the drama.

But to me snail mail is snail mail for a reason. You can’t expect a letter in 1 day. At least not if you have international pen pals. It takes for me, from Sweden, 2 weeks to send to USA (1 week inside Europe and 1 week to Asia). Sometimes the post office screw this up and it might take a bit longer. And when I say 1 week, I mean 7 working days. So Weekends and holidays are not in this. So lets say I have an american pen pal. Their letter take 2-3 weeks to get to me, I’m busy during my days because I work so let’s say I write a reply in 1 week, than it takes another 2-3 weeks for the letter after I post it.

So again…..to cry on Facebook because you didn’t have a response the next day is to me weird.

When coming to the pen pal hobby. I been a bit addicted to buying craft stuff. Papers, washi, stickers, stamps and anything really xD I love making themed letters after my pen pals hobbies. So I been making an Harry potter letter and working on a couple Sherlock Holmes murder mystery letters at the moment. It makes it more special i think.

It’s soon Christmas which is my favorite time of the year. So I might go crazy on some Christmas letters. 😀 Is my letter making something you guys want to have pictures on?

Erotica

I been getting my inspo back again and I can write without any struggles. I can’t say when I feel like I have enough short stories/novels to start publishing them. When I start I want to be consistent, once a week or something like that, but at the same time I’m so excited when I finish one that I want to put it out right away.

Do you guys think I should publish whenever they are done or should I wait until I have a couple and try to do once a week? I heard that you get more consistent followers and fans if you have a publishing scheduled. I see good and bads on both sides.

Youtube

I been considering starting a youtube channel. I Have a video camera and do love filming. But I’m not sure if its something I have time with between my blog, my erotica writing, pen pals, work etc.

But I love watching pen pal vlogs, seeing people craft, supply hauls, showing what they got in a letter etc. So I’m saying maybe shorter vlogs on different topics like: craft, my writing, my blog, my cat, my job….anything I feel like.

I want to do so much but the question is if I have the time for it all xD

    Congratulations on the new job. That’s great news.
    I think you should share what you publish and hopefully the feedback will provide more inspiration.
    The YouTube channel sounds like a great idea.

      It sure is 🙂 I went to a special university for librarians where I study: librarianship, information seeking and information science xD It was really fun 🙂 Been working as a librarian for 5 years now ^^ Wonderful job ^^ Not much reading and not so quite as most ppl think tho XD Far from it.

    Congratulations on your new job! I had no idea in the pen pal world you were expected to send gifts, I always thought it was just letters! Crazy!! I bet the drama in that group has to be comical!

    Happy Birthday. September is a great moths for birthdays, I just has one on the 13th. Penpal-ing is such great fun. Years ago I had several penpals. Over time we became like family and even started to visit with each other in addition to our letters and occasional phone calls. Now three of them have passed and the other now travels a lot with her husband and grandson so now it is only quick text of fb messages. I sure do miss the opening the mailbox and seeing their letters. Sounds like things are looking brighter for you. Congrats on the job…I love libraries and bookstores.

    People underestimate how much a bully at work can affect you physically as well as mentally, especially if the bully is your boss. I’m sure you will notice benefits of getting out of that even months from now. Congrats and Happy Birthday!

    Glad to have you back and the ‘YouTube’ idea is and sounds good. I know a lot of people who have ‘YouTube’ get a lot of support and feel inspired. 🙂

    I extend congratulations on the new job too. As for the pen pals a lot of what you wrote I feel the same way. I am not able to send “goodies” or stamps, or whatever is asked for because I don’t even do it for family.

    to continue. I try and write semi long letters and yet I either get memo letters, or nothing. I then have to remember I have had dry spells for writing as well. Have fun pen paling. I lost track of how many I have.
