Rise Up Diaries ~ Weekend round up

Last episode: Rise Up diaries ~ 5th July 2019

I thought That instead of writing every day of this weekend I would do a weekend round up on Sundays instead. This would give me more time on my Saturday evenings to hangout with my family.

Saturday 6th July 2019

So to start of we have Saturday. I had big plans for this day, not really but I actually had something planned for this. Me and a childhood friend, Veronica (the girl who showed me how to ride a horse ) where going to a bigger city to do some window shopping. I myself don’t have much money after leaving my old job, moving isn’t very cheap either. So I told myself I didn’t need much. I still go some stuff I just couldn’t resist buying.

Veronica needed some horse stuff, a pencil case and she also wanted to look for some lipsticks. Both Veronica and I are rather tomboyish. We don’t use make-up much but we both started to feel it could be fun to try. She is very good at everything but lips. I’m very good at lipsticks xD.

I myself who didn’t need much still got myself a lip sugar scrub (to scrub of dead skin and make a smooth surface for the lipstick), a lip mask (basically like a sheet mask but for the lips.) I also got myself some tea. I got one green tea. I’m don’t usually like green tea but after Veronica showed this one to me I was sold. Its called Cherry blossom. I also got a black tea with my favorite flavor; strawberry and champagne, also called love tea.

After this we went into a bookstore where I got myself a note book. I realized a couple days ago I come up with rather good sentences and story ideas for my novels when I’m out and about. So having a cute note book with me in the bag would be perfect. I wanted to look for a very simple note book, if its to pretty or nice looking I would never feel like I could destroy it by writing in it. Or rather I would never think anything would be worthy to be written in such a cute note book.

I ended up buy a nice leather note book anyway and I will have to force myself to use it. I’m still looking at home on what pen I want to use. I know it sounds silly but its a huge problem for me.

We also took a break at a lovely cafe that had a rather old style. Their tea cups was really nice to hold and drink from. I would say that even though the rain poured down on us we still have an amazing time.

After getting home I was extremely cold. First had to stand under a warm tap of water and warm my hands up, to then make a cup of tea. Dad started the fire in the fireplace and both me and my cat felt very comfortable.

Sunday 7th July 2019

Today my big brother came over with his 7 month old son Nicholas. He is probably the nicest and most cute baby I have ever met. Sometimes I just want to snatch him for myself and keep him. I have this feeling in my body who is just screaming to have a baby of my own. I really hope it will be a perfect time for me too soon.

My big brother, Fredrich, came over to go out fishing with me and my dad. I had a rather bad night with my chronic pain and I wasn’t very sure if I was going to be able to stay in the boat that many hours. But I decided getting some fresh air and sun would be good for me.

When we got to the boat place and lake it started raining again and he sun dissepaired. I was prepared this day though and had many layers of clothes. My brother and dad didn’t. My dad did say many times

“how come Elin is the only one wearing decent clothes?”

Well If you want to know I didn’t the day before and was cold as fuck with veronica! You live and you learn.

Me and my brother didn’t get any fish, only dad. But it was a lovely day. It did stop raining as well and the sun came out after some hours. We also had a picknick with us.

When I was about 14-15 years old (it must have been about 10 years ago). I released the fishing rod behind me instead of in front of me while standing on a smaller island in the lake. Behind me my big brother and dad stood and the fishing hook went by their eyes extremely close. After that incident I was banned from the boat and from holding a fishing rod again. So to be allowed again feels very good!

When I got home I was in big need of my painkillers though but I’m still happy I went. I decided to make myself some tea and have a mini spa night for my lips. So I tried the lip mask and lip sugar scrub I bought the day before.

I’m very kissable right now!

Very nice way to end this lovely weekend. I heard my dad speak about it being very nice weather tomorrow in Sweden. Which do sound great but I also heard that meant we was going to do some work in the garden all day tomorrow because of this. So we will see, I might get some muscles living here again. xD

What have you done this weekend?

Have you ever gotten a fish while fishing?

    What a fun weekend.
It’s been many years since I’ve been fishing. In the Top End of Australia, I enjoyed fishing in billabongs and also in the sea. The fish were always good to eat.
I don’t like feeling cold either, so I tend to wear many layers when I go out.
A nice notebook is always good to have. These days though, I find I tap out notes on an app in my smartphone, but once in a while handwriting notes is enjoyable.
I had a quiet weekend. On Saturday I cooked a meal and used a new knife and tool one of my daughters bought me when I was visiting Brisbane. The knife is very sharp and I loved using it.
I also blogged about a meal I cooked while I was in Brisbane for my parents and my youngest daughter.
On my diary blog, I wrote about my week in Brisbane.
Sunday was a quiet day of washing, ironing, and cleaning and watching some TV.
I like quiet weekends to spend alone and contemplate life.
Sounds like you had a great time with a friend and family on your weekend Elin.

I feel like i was more active than i usually is tbh xD I also did some cooking this weekend. My granddad who is from Hungary have showed me his family recipies and I’m alone in my family and by all the relatives to know how to make it like he does. Which is very special to me. So I did this hungarian slow cooking stew for my family and they loved it like always.

Cooking is so much fun 🙂 Especially when you have someone to cook for. I saw we had some walnuts so I been thinking about making a walnut bread, 🙂

Mmm…now you’re making me feel hungry and it’s 7.30 am here. I love slow cooked stews in winter. They are so comforting.

Maybe, a diary entry can include a recipe and how you cooked a dish from your grandfather.

Bread with nuts in them is great. I like the texture and the feel in my mouth of something crunchy.

I have been thinking about it. But at the same time this recipie feels so special to my heart and I dont know if I’m that generous to show others how to make it. xD Im very proud to be the only one in my family to know how. Not even my other uncles and cousins know. My granddad picked me specially :3 Maybe one day I will share it with others xD

Well then, if it’s a secret, it should stay that way 😃

Family secret recipes are very special.

I will just have to imagine a delicious slow cooked stew on a cold winter night.

This was quite the enjoyable read. Answer: I met with a spiritual group that I’m a part of and finished season 3 of Stranger Things. I’ve never caught a fish in the times I’ve went. I caught a weird rock once though. 🤷
